Meet Your Instructors

Scotty Banks

Scotty Banks served in the U.S. Marine Corps where he received the Company’s Honor Graduate on Parris Island, South Carolina.

He served as Primary Duty Marksmanship Instructor in the Marines responsible for unit qualifications and remedial firearms training. Scotty has 27 years of Law Enforcement experience. He spent the majority of his career with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office. Scotty was a member of the Swat Team and was responsible for the SWAT physical training and shooting program. Some of his duties were high risk warrants, interstate drug interdiction, and undercover narcotics and vice work. As the Departmental Firearms Instructor he was responsible for qualifications and remedial firearms training. Scotty has trained with the FBI Hostage Response Team and several other SWAT teams across the southern United States. He is still a reserve Deputy with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office and works full time as the Training Manager of GLOCK Professional Training.

All of his certifications and requirements with Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council are in good standing. Scotty is still a firearms instructor certified by the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council to teach semi-auto, revolver, shotgun, sub-machine gun, and police carbine. He is also a NRA certified law enforcement handgun/shotgun instructor and Tactical Shooting Instructor.

Erin Bean

Erin Bean is from Fayetteville, North Carolina where she started her law enforcement career with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in 2015.

She was also the primary firearms instructor for female handgun classes at a private range in Autryville, North Carolina, The Range Complex.

In 2017, Erin joined a state agency, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, and was a Special Agent assigned to the Fayetteville District where she investigated misdemeanor and felony violations of the law, some resulting in federal indictments. She became a certified field training officer, general instructor, specialized firearms and specialized physical fitness instructor through the North Carolina Training and Standards. Erin was the primary firearms instructor for the Fayetteville District, leading annual qualifications and quarterly firearms training.

In 2023, Erin was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Greensboro District where she supervised district personnel in the field and administrative duties.

Erin is still sworn as a Reserve Special Agent with North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement where she assists with the agency’s Special Agent Training Academy in firearms and physical fitness training. 

Jonathon Bissett

Jon is a U.S. Marine Corps and Army Infantry veteran with deployments to Southeast Asia and Afghanistan.

Following his military service, he worked as an executive protection specialist for a California-based security and training firm, where he conducted international and domestic security operations and served as a lead instructor in weapons and tactics.

Jon holds a Master classification in IDPA and actively competes in USPSA. Since 2018, he has been an instructor with GLOCK Professional, where he combines his operational experience and instructional skill to train law enforcement and military personnel across the country.

Ralph Blue

Ralph Blue is a firearms instructor with 22+ years of military experience, including service as a Green Beret in U.S. Army Special Forces and later as a Special Forces Weapons Instructor. He led tactical training and operations within the 10th Special Forces Group and later instructed at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.

Post-military, Ralph founded Blu Scorpion Protection and became an instructor for GLOCK Professional, training law enforcement and civilians across the U.S. He is certified in executive protection, firearms instruction, and emergency medical response.

Cazz Castaneda

Cazz served 12 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and was the Detachment Commander, 2nd FORECON, Maritime Special Purpose Raid Force during Operation Restore and Continued Hope in Somalia.

Following his honorable service, he became a training lieutenant for a nuclear site preparing armed responders to defeat acts against radiological sabotage and later joined the ranks of the Federal Air Marshals. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Cazz performed high-risk dignitary protection for U.S. and Foreign Diplomats. He also trained Free Iraqi Fighters (FIF) in Baghdad, and Kurdish (Peshmerga) militia in Northern Iraq to augment perimeter defenses and Counter Assault Team members. He has trained countless international security personnel in support of the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense. Additionally, he was responsible for tactical and technical methodologies and mentorship to prospective firearm and tactics instructors for US State Department certification. A highly regarded tactics and firearms instructor, Cazz was formerly a staff instructor at the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) where he trained a variety of international special operations units and U.S. Embassy-Amman response force personnel. When in CONUS, he is often sought out to train governor and mayoral protective details, SWAT and police Investigators with high threat and low-profile dignitary protection, mission planning, motorcade operations, and patrol rifle instructor development.

During film productions, Cazz has worked in the capacity as a military technical advisor, actor, precision driver, and military trainer for actors. He recently served abroad in direct support of Task Order-10 U.S. Embassy Kabul Afghanistan, and Royal PSD for the King of Malaysia.

David Elrod

David worked for Glock Inc. for 9 years in assembly, warranty, GLOCK Sports Shooting Foundation, and law enforcement sales. He was also one of the founding members of Team GLOCK US, achieving a master class rating with USPSA.

Additionally, David has 18+ years of law enforcement where he also served as a firearms instructor, EVOC driving instructor, and a hostage negotiator with his former police department.  David chose to retire early and return to GLOCK in his current role.

David's been shooting and carrying GLOCK pistols for 35+ years and has a passion for educating today’s law enforcement officers to become more proficient with their GLOCK pistols and weapon platforms.

Charles Evans

Chuck served on active duty in the U.S. Army, last assignment was to 10th Mountain Division Light Infantry at Ft. Drum, NY

Upon completing his service to the Army, he joined the Georgia State Patrol. And after 20+ years of service, he retired from the State SWAT/Dive Team as First Sergeant and Coordinator of the State Counter-Terrorism Task Force.

Chuck worked as a contractor for the U.S. Federal Government on contracts both CONUS and OCONUS.

In March 2016 Chuck was hired by Glock Professional as a Firearms Instructor teaching law enforcement and military classes. In January 2021, Chuck was promoted to Critical Skills Training manager, tasked with servicing military units and other government clients in all facets of training.

Lynn Freshly

Lynn has been a Firearms Instructor with GLOCK Training since 2011.

He previously served over 27 years as a police officer in Northeast Ohio, retiring as a Lieutenant. A state-certified firearms instructor since 1987, he spent nearly 20 years as a Tactical Team Commander, leading operations and training efforts.

Lynn also teaches as an adjunct instructor at the Tactical Defense Institute and serves as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with a Central Ohio Sheriff's Office, continuing his commitment to law enforcement training and service.

Eric Guyer

Eric Guyer is a former U.S. Army Non-Commissioned Officer with 26 total years military experience, 18 of those years were served in the U.S. Army Special Forces

Eric Guyer served in multiple Special Operations units throughout his Army career accumulating a diverse technical and tactical firearms resume. His training background includes U.S. Army Special Forces Qualification Course, U.S. Army Special Forces Operator Training Course and the U.S. Army Basic and Small Group Instructor Training Courses.

He also served as a Special Forces Instructor at the Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance, Target Analysis and Exploitation Techniques Course (SFARTAETC), the U.S. Army’s premier Shooting and Close Quarters Combat training course.

Since his military retirement he has been employed at Glock Professional as a Firearms Instructor.

Larry Loring

Larry Loring is a veteran with 21 years of service in the U.S. Army, 20 years of which he spent as an Infantryman assigned to various positions and units within the 75th Ranger Regiment.

His experience includes serving in every leadership position from Team Leader to Company First Sergeant. He also served in various instructor roles including the head of the Small Unit Ranger Tactics Course and as the Program Manager for the Ranger Marksmanship Program.

Larry separated from the Military in March of 2022 and has been a Firearms Instructor for Glock Professional ever since.

When time permits, Larry shoots competitively in USPSA, and Steel Challenge.

Chad McIntyre

Chad McIntyre joins Glock after his retirement from a 27-year career as a police officer.

Chad began his law enforcement journey as a Deputy in Cass County Missouri Sheriff’s Office before joining the Springfield Missouri Police Department in 1996. Early in his career, Chad served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Motor Officer and Accident Reconstructionist. In 2004, he earned a position on Springfield Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT). During his assignment to SRT Chad was assigned as an Operator, Explosive Breacher and Sniper. Chad eventually promoted and held the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant and Commander while being assigned to SRT. Upon being promoted to Lieutenant, he was also commander of two uniform patrol squads, SRT and the K9 unit.

Chad also served as an Instructor with the Heartland Tactical Association and with the Kansas City Metro Tactical Officers Association. In 2020, he was named the Commander of the Springfield Police Training Unit and Director of the Springfield Police Academy. Chad retired in September of 2021 and was honored with the Springfield Police Department’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Corey Watson

Corey Watson is a former Law Enforcement Officer and U.S. Army Ranger.

His work experience and formal training mirror his avid interest in the areas of law enforcement, criminal justice, military preparedness, and regional security. His skills and expertise have been developed and refined over a 23-year period during which he has served in the U.S. Army, in municipal police departments (City of Jackson, Mississippi, Prince George’s County, Maryland and Richmond, Virginia), and as a contractor supporting U.S. initiatives in the Iraqi conflict.

During his time as a law enforcement officer, he spent nearly a six years as the Range Master and primary firearms instructor at the police training academy for a department of over 750 officers. He was a member of the SWAT team and also served the police department as a patrol officer, a robbery/major crimes detective, as well as a Federal Task Force Officer with the United States Marshals.

He is a certified armorer, and a firearms and defensive tactics instructor. His military training includes 75th Ranger Regiment Ranger Indoctrination Program, U.S. Army Ranger School, and Assault Climber School. He has attended numerous law enforcement schools to include NTOA Team Leader Course, Shoot House Instructor (Tigerswan), and ALERRT Erase Instructor (Exterior Response to Active Shooter Events). He has attended numerous shooting courses to include Tigerswan Pistol and Carbine Course and Northern Red Opposed Close Quarter Battle. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Radford University. Corey is married with two children. In his spare time he enjoys shooting, camping and spending time with his family.

Connor Wigginton

Connor Wigginton served on active duty in the U.S Army where he was primarily assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Prior to joining the training team Connor worked for the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation. He has been with the company since 2023.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, competing in shooting sports (Master Classification) and working on the family farm.

Richard Withington

Rich has been with GLOCK for three years, bringing with him over three decades of law enforcement experience.

Prior to joining GLOCK, Rich served as a Boston Police Officer for 30 years. Throughout his career, he held roles in various patrol units and served as both a SWAT and Motorcycle Operator. His time with the SWAT team sparked a passion for instruction, leading him to become a firearms instructor. For the final 16 years of his law enforcement career, he dedicated himself to training Boston Police Department officers in tactical safety and proper firearms techniques.

In his current role with GLOCK, Rich instructs a broad range of law enforcement professionals across the Northeast. He is deeply passionate about his work and considers it a privilege to support those who serve.

Chris Wright

Chris Wright is a U.S. Army veteran who served as an infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division, where he took the role of team leader. Chris also worked as a government contractor with Triple Canopy.

His commitment to service and safety led him to a career in law enforcement, where he worked in various capacities. He served seven years, working in patrol and narcotics, and spent six of those years as a SWAT officer. Chris is also an experienced martial artist with a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a background in freestyle wrestling. He competes in USPSA shooting events and remains committed to training and personal development.
